Frequently Asked Questions
Do I receive a certificate?
Yes, you will receive a certificate of attendance upon completing all three days of the course. Please note, this is not a formal qualification. However, a qualification is not required to work as a tattoo artist in many countries, including Germany and the United Kingdom.
In the UK, what you do need is a tattoo license, but at present, a qualification is not necessary in order to obtain one.
Is there any support once I have done my course?
Yes, we offer many types of ongoing support and other courses to help you continue development in a safe helpful way.
Why is your course 3 days and other courses are 2 weeks?
In our view, we can provide you with the essential knowledge and skills you need to begin tattooing safely. Some academies extend their courses to create the impression of added value; however, even two- or three-week courses are not sufficient to provide the real-world experience required to become a confident tattoo artist.
From trusted sources, we understand that many academies dedicate several days to drawing and theory. While those elements have value, we focus our time on the core fundamentals of tattooing, with particular emphasis on health and safety, as this is one of the most important aspects of professional practice. Additional skills and techniques can then be developed in your own time as you continue your learning journey.
To be clear and transparent: becoming proficient in tattooing takes months or even years of consistent practice to build both confidence and mastery. Whether you complete a three-day course or a three-week course, you will still need to invest time, effort, and ongoing practice to reach a competent professional standard.
Our program is designed to condense the content of a stretched-out multi-week course into an intensive three-day format, ensuring you get the same essential knowledge without unnecessary padding. Beyond the course, we continue to offer support and guidance as you progress, helping you build your skills and confidence step by step.
How can you teach everything in just 3 days?
The reality is that even the most accomplished tattoo artists never stop learning—this art form demands continual growth and development. Like any new skill, tattooing requires consistent practice. That’s why we designed this course for people who may not be able to commit to two or three weeks of training, but still want to learn the fundamentals and then continue progressing at their own pace, around their lifestyle.
We’ve also developed accelerated learning techniques that help participants learn faster, retain more knowledge, and enjoy the process along the way. With a combined 28 years of tattooing experience, our lead trainers have already helped many aspiring artists dramatically improve their skills—many of whom are now successfully working in their own studios.
By using high-impact, breakthrough training methods, our participants gain practical, real-world skills they can apply immediately. The true difference between those who simply attend and those who go on to transform their lives and careers is one thing: action.
Our courses are professional, intensive, and inspiring, but ultimately, your dedication, practice, and persistence after training will determine how far you go. We provide the tools and knowledge; your effort is what turns them into lasting success.
How old must I be to do the course?
You must be 18 years old to attend our 3 day tattoo training intensive course however, you are only required to be 16 to attend our renowned ‘tattoo taster day’ workshop.
What do I need to bring with me?
It would be helpful to bring a notepad and penAll equipment and supplies are provided however you may want to bring money for drinks and lunch.
Must I be able to speak English to benefit from the course?
A reasonable level of English is highly recommended in order to understand the majority of the training. All of the training is spoken and written in the English language.
Do I get to tattoo a real person?
You will have the opportunity to use a tattoo machine every single day throughout the training program. However, live tattooing on models is not permitted during this course. This is because tattooing real people requires additional time, paperwork, licensing, and other technical considerations.
Instead, we provide you with the knowledge, guidance, and hands-on instruction you need to develop your tattooing techniques, which you will practice on high-quality synthetic skin. During the course, you will also receive advice and support on how to safely transition to tattooing real people once you are ready.
We strongly advise against tattooing anyone until you have reached a sufficient level of skill and confidence. Since every student progresses differently—both in artistic ability and technical competence—it is ultimately your integrity and judgment that should guide your decision about when to begin working on real skin.
Many artists choose to tattoo themselves first, as this can be a valuable way to assess your abilities before moving on to tattooing others.
Can I tattoo skin straight away?
In short, no—we do not encourage, promote, or support tattooing people immediately after completing the course.Tattooing is a craft that requires patience, dedication, and consistent practice to master. Learning to tattoo is not something that can be rushed; it is a step-by-step process that involves building both technical skill and artistic confidence over time.
During the training program, we focus on teaching you the essential foundations—machine handling, needle control, line work, shading, and safe hygiene practices. You will spend time developing these skills on synthetic skin, which is an important and necessary stage of the learning journey. However, it is important to understand that completing the course alone does not yet place you at a standard where working on live skin would be considered responsible, safe, or professional.
Tattooing real people introduces many additional challenges that cannot be replicated on practice skin—such as working with different skin types, managing client comfort, handling movement, and dealing with the permanence of your work. For this reason, we strongly advise that you continue practicing extensively on fake skin until your skills, control, and consistency have reached a reliable standard.
Our role is to provide you with the tools, knowledge, and support needed to begin your journey, but it is your continued practice, self-discipline, and integrity that will determine when you are truly ready to work on real clients. Many artists choose to tattoo themselves first before tattooing others, as this can be a valuable way to test your abilities and gain a realistic understanding of your readiness.
Tattooing is a serious responsibility, and we want every student to enter the industry with confidence, skill, and respect for the craft. By taking the time to properly develop your abilities after the course, you will set yourself up for long-term success as a professional tattoo artist.
